The St. John’s Becoming Beloved Community Group undertakes projects, discussions, and education to strive for justice and peace among people, respect the dignity of every human being, and to see the reality of racism and uproot discrimination from our world, our church, and ourselves. We work with the Episcopal Partnership Commission to Dismantle Racism and Discrimination, as well as with other churches and organizations within our community. Our current activities include:
Sunday Sessions: The First Sunday of Every Month after the 10:00am service in the lounge at St. John’s we offer a variety of short programs and presentations by members of the Becoming Beloved Community Group. All are invited.
Food is Our Love Language: This series of events brings together people from different backgrounds for conversation and education around shared meals. Contact the church office for more information.
Mercer County Underground Railroad Tours: Visit Mercer County has restarted a bus tour with local experts on communities of former slaves and underground railroad stops in Mercer County.
